Staff Council Meeting Location: Paresky 220
Wednesday, October 26, 2011 Time: 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.

In Attendance: Martha Tetrault, ex officio, Danielle Gonzalez, ex officio, Colleen Bethoney, ex officio, Dawn Dellea, Gisela Demant, Roberta Sweet, Kim Tremblay, Teresa Waryjasz

1. 2011 Staff Advisory Council nominations
2. Inclement Weather communication
3. Record retention


1. The group reviewed submitted nominations and selected 8 new members to fill the openings. On behalf of the group Danielle will be contacting and welcoming each new member and contacting those not selected. In each case they were late submissions. Discussion was held around keeping the existing three year term or possibly offering alternative term durations. This may be discussed further at our next meeting.

2. Martha asked for feedback as to whether or not people felt it necessary to send the inclement weather memo out. The group did feel that a reminder email is always helpful. It was also suggested that we add Whoopee Radio to our list for closing announcements.

3. Record Retention
Danielle explained that there is a group working on a record retention schedule for academic departments & college committees which will apply to Staff Council minutes. Danielle to bring final documentation for distribution.
