In your own words, what constitutes \u201cthe modern?\u201d Does the attempt to bring conceptual clarity to the notion of \u201cmodernity\u201d necessarily suggest the existence of modernity\u2019s \u201cother,\u201d namely the (potentially problematic) categories of \u201cthe traditional,\u201d or pre-modern?
