Welcome to the magical world of PDE! This course is an introduction to PDE, with an emphasis on theory. We will start our adventure by solving four important PDE: Laplace’s equation, the Heat Equation, the Transport Equation and the Wave Equation, and deriving a couple of useful properties. Then, time-permitting,\u00a0we will cover a couple of miscellaneous PDE topics such as the method of characteristics, weak derivatives, separation of variables, and the calculus of variations.<\/p>\n

Announcements<\/strong><\/p>\n

(04\/03) The take-home final is now 24h long. You may take it at any time during the final exam period.<\/p>\n

(02\/10) The TA Sessions will be held on Thursdays from 8 pm to 9 pm in 106 Bronfman.<\/p>\n
