After his studies he taught organ at the Sweelinck Conservatorium. He was also editor of the encyclopedia <em>Het Historische Orgel in Nederland<\/em> and organ advisor for the Commissie Orgelzaken of the Protestantse Kerk Nederland and the Stichting Oude Hollandse Kerken. Since 2003 he has been the organ specialist at the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands. In this function he coordinates restorations of historical organs.
