Eligibility

Check your Eligibility

Most first-, second- and third-year Williams College students are eligible to participate in our programs, but be sure to check our detailed requirements if you have a special circumstance.

Let’s talk about eligibility.

To be eligible for the Advising Fellow, you must meet these basic requirements:

  • Be a freshman, sophomore, or junior currently enrolled at Williams College.
    • View the Eligibility Enrollment Matrix below to determine your eligibility.
  • Have no pending disciplinary cases against you in a Williams College review process. Pending disciplinary cases will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
  • Update: Starting September 1, 2020, Matriculate will no longer consider a candidate’s GPA in determining their eligibility.

Enrollment Eligibility Matrix

If you are a first-, second-, or third- year, you can use the enrollment matrix below to clarify your program eligibility. Fourth-year students are not eligible to apply.

  • If you are enrolled for the entire academic year (in-person, remotely, or a combination of the two), you are eligible to apply.
  • If you are taking a gap semester in the fall, but will be enrolled (in-person or remotely) in the spring semester, you are eligible to apply. These applications will be reviewed on a special basis.
    • However, you must have been enrolled previously for at least one full semester (e.g., be a current second- or third-year). First-years are not eligible to apply under this policy.
  • If you are taking a gap semester in the spring, but will be enrolled (in-person or remotely) in the fall semester, you are not eligible to apply at this time. We encourage you to apply for next year’s cohort.
  • If you are taking a gap year, unfortunately, you are not eligible to apply at this time. We encourage you to apply for next year’s cohort.
  • If you are a fourth-year student, unfortunately, you are not eligible to apply. We appreciate your interest.
