The Williams MakersWeb is a network of staff and faculty expert practitioners that represent the 27 maker spaces and studios distributed throughout campus. It also includes 6 campus and 9 community partners. The MakersWeb embraces interdisciplinary networking as a means to better serve the mission of the College. Some practitioners collaborate with students, faculty, and staff to create art or works of all kinds that intersect with literary, performative, visual, physical, and\/or digital mediums. Members meet monthly to share expertise and curricular projects, and to discuss how to improve access to making equipment, standardize safety practices, and conserve resources (e.g. bulk purchasing, hardgoods inventory). MakersWeb co-chairs: David Keiser-Clark (Makerspace) and Jason Mativi (Science Shop).<\/span><\/p>\n

The Provost’s Office <\/span>announced support<\/span><\/a> for the Williams MakersWeb on July 16, 2024. <\/span>The MakersWeb supports at least three strategic commitments: The Future of the Arts at Williams<\/a>, Sustainability<\/a>, and Learning Beyond the Classroom<\/a>.<\/p>\n
