Biography<\/strong> Mr. Nunoya is an endorser of Korogi instruments, and his signature line of mallets is published from Korogi in Japan. \nAcclaimed by Boston Herald <\/em>as \u201cagile and terrifically talented,\u201d and by the Houston Chronicle<\/em> as \u201cmagnetic\u2026 impressive,\u201d Fumito Nunoya won first prize at The 3rd<\/sup> Libertango International Music Competition in Italy 2009, and Ima Hogg Young Artists Competition in 2005, which led to his U.S. concerto debut with the Houston Symphony. He has also won top prizes at many national and international competitions, including the Percussive Arts Society International Marimba Competition in 2003, the 3rd World Marimba Competition in Stuttgart, Germany in 2002. Mr. Nunoya has presented numerous recitals and performed with orchestras in Japan, USA and Europe. Mr. Nunoya graduated from The Boston Conservatory in its distinguished Artist Diploma program. He is the first marimba (or percussion) major in the school\u2019s history to receive this distinction.<\/p>\n
