Principal Investigator
Dr. Rebecca Crochiere
I am a clinical psychologist with a focus in health psychology. My research investigates how to promote health behaviors, specifically physical activity and healthy eating. I take an interdisciplinary approach, combining advanced technology (e.g., smartphones and sensors like Fitbits) and psychological theory to study the daily factors (e.g., stress, socializing, tiredness) that interfere with engagement in healthy behaviors. I then translate that knowledge into scalable, personalized, and adaptive digital interventions for health-behavior change (e.g., weight control) that deliver in-the-moment interventions at precise moments of need (e.g., via push notifications on a smartphone device to bolster healthy behavior).
