Irene in HMF<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The Envi Lab database records the results from the hydro-geochemical and meteorological research and sampling in Hopkins Memorial Forest (HMF). We monitor local weather and climate and help to provide students and faculty with these\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/geosciences.williams.edu\/weather\/weather-archive\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">data<\/a> for their class-based and long-term research projects.<\/p>\n<p>We have been measuring\u00a0precipitation and streamflow chemistry\u00a0(Birch Brook <a href=\"https:\/\/geosciences.williams.edu\/weather\/watershed-data\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">watershed<\/a>)\u00a0on a biweekly or monthly basis since 1983. We have also monitored <a href=\"http:\/\/web.williams.edu\/weather\/watershed\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">discharge<\/a> (Q) and stream temperature since 1984 and 1994 respectively, at two sites in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/geosciences.williams.edu\/weather\/files\/2018\/06\/BirchBrookNotesV9.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Birch Brook<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Since 1983, we have recorded weather data at four stations located throughout HMF. Our <a href=\"https:\/\/geosciences.williams.edu\/weather\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">main\u00a0Weather Station<\/a>\u00a0measures air temperature, humidity, precipitation, wind speed\/direction, sunlight, soil temperatures, and ground water levels and updates 10 minute intervals. We also have a 50-m <a title=\"MET\" href=\"https:\/\/geosciences.williams.edu\/weather\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MET tower<\/a> collecting hourly wind speed and direction, plus temperature at the site since 2004.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Envi Lab database records the results from the hydro-geochemical and meteorological research and sampling in Hopkins Memorial Forest (HMF).
