Most of us want to make a difference. We see suffering, injustice and death, and are moved to do something about them. But working out what that ‘something’ is, let alone actually doing it, can be a difficult and disheartening challenge.
Effective Altruism (EA) is a response to this challenge. This growing social movement is committed to combining compassion with reasoning and evidence so that our choices do the most good possible.
Williams EA exists to introduce students to the guiding moral and epistemic principles of EA, provide a space for students to learn together about specific cause areas such as global health and AI safety, and connect students with educational, research, and work opportunities in the broader EA community.
