I&#8217;d like to begin by reminding people what this team is about by means of the best quote ever (present on the cycling team training manual).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=sdnqZcmWk8U\">&#8220;Arise Riders of Theoden!&#8221;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, on to training. We&#8217;re going to move into training mode <em>slowly<\/em> and <em>deliberately<\/em>. For the next few weeks, training should be simple and enjoyable. Here&#8217;s the list of &#8220;do&#8217;s&#8221; and &#8220;dont&#8217;s&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Do&#8217;s:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Ride your bike<br \/>\n&#8211; Don&#8217;t ride too hard&#8211; NO INTERVALS. PERIOD.<br \/>\n&#8211; Ride with friends if possible<br \/>\n&#8211; Enjoy the beautiful fall weather<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dont&#8217;s:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Don&#8217;t do intervals<br \/>\n&#8211; Don&#8217;t ride to exhaustion<br \/>\n&#8211; Don&#8217;t start with super long rides&#8211; build up to them with shorter rides<\/p>\n<p>Ultimately, the goals of this first training block are:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Get used to spending time on the bike<br \/>\n&#8211; Have fun<br \/>\n&#8211; Start building an aerobic base<\/p>\n<p>So, your training week might look like riding 3-6 times per week (depending on how much you&#8217;ve been riding previously) for relatively short distances, maybe with the exception of one &#8220;long ride,&#8221; whatever that means for you.<\/p>\n<p>DON&#8217;T DO INTERVALS. If you&#8217;re riding indoors, keep it chill and don&#8217;t stress your body too much.
