{"id":277,"date":"2011-04-18T19:01:02","date_gmt":"2011-04-19T00:01:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cycling.williams.edu\/?p=277"},"modified":"2011-04-18T19:01:02","modified_gmt":"2011-04-19T00:01:02","slug":"johns-unofficial-race-report-dartmouths-lenfer-du-nord-and-unhs-live-free-or-ride-harder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.williams.edu\/cycling\/racing\/johns-unofficial-race-report-dartmouths-lenfer-du-nord-and-unhs-live-free-or-ride-harder\/","title":{"rendered":"John\u2019s (un)Official Race Report: Dartmouth\u2019s L\u2019Enfer du Nord and UNH\u2019s Live Free or Ride Harder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Before anything is said about this past weekend, apologies are owed to Mr. Todd Brenner for grievous oversight in last week\u2019s post.\u00a0 Todd, having received battle wounds (including a concussion) in the fight for the glorious cause (read: while racing over spring break), was unable to join the team on the road at Yale, but nevertheless played the role of the soigneur to perfection, providing transportation, moral support, and evidence that the Ephs did indeed tear up the road in New Haven.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/hphotos-snc6.fbcdn.net\/218449_1925966505337_1127372805_32333268_8055666_o.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><br \/>\nProof that Todd was indeed at Yale: he took this awesome artsy fartsy photo of Ian and Erik at the line.<\/p>\n<p>Todd was back in the saddle this weekend, ready to join the rest of the hardcore crew as they traveled to the (rather bizarre) state of New Hampshire (Live Free or Die, state operated drive-in liquor stores, etc.) to finish off their ECCC season.<\/p>\n<p>First up was the ironically (or perhaps aptly) titled L\u2019Enfer du Nord at Dartmouth.\u00a0 With temperatures dropping decisively below \u2018brisk\u2019, the Ephs had to work hard to just stay warm, let alone go fast.\u00a0 Saturday\u2019s highlights:<\/p>\n<p>-Erik and Amy reprise their amazing performances from the Yale crit.<\/p>\n<p>-John snaps his rear derailleur cable with 4.5 laps left in the crit, leaving him with two speeds (hard, and VERY VERY HARD), and manages to finish 8<sup>th<\/sup> to snag the last available point<\/p>\n<p>-Ice baths for all!<\/p>\n<p>-Henry\u2019s newfound way of expressing emotion: \u201cTHE F***ING LAARB!\u201d (Alternatively, \u201cF*** THE LAARB!\u201d)<\/p>\n<p>-Todd plays digestive system roulette (\u201cHow spicy, 1-5?\u201d)<\/p>\n<p>-\u201cMen\u2019s D?
