COP-21: One week in, where do we stand?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

From 12:30-1:30pm on Monday December 7th<\/strong>, \u00a0view some of the latest developments from COP21 as the final week of negotiations gets under way.<\/p>\n

Starting at 7am on Tuesday December 8th<\/strong>, join students from ENVI\/PSC 328 as they continue their “virtual field-trip” to COP21 and follow the negotiations as they unfold, with fresh croissants, coffee, and hot chocolate!<\/p>\n

Capturing Carbon in Local Soils: Grazing Practices for Climate Change Mitigation\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>
\nA conversation with Morgan Hartman, Black Queen Angus Farm, Berlin NY\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

Against the backdrop of the Paris Climate Summit, come learn more about the role of soils in global carbon flows.\u00a0Following a viewing of the short film\u00a0Soil Carbon Cowboys,\u00a0<\/i>Morgan Hartman\u00a0<\/i>will discuss his experience in nearby Berlin, NY with Holistic Planned Grazing, an approach that has the potential to increase carbon storage in soils. We’ll examine the importance of regenerative soil practices to maximize this carbon sink, and how these practices might factor in to the agreement being negotiated in Paris.<\/div>\n

Join us for delicious treats from local farms as we explore how farming practices can help address global climate change. We’ll meet at 7pm on Tuesday December 8th<\/strong> in the Class of 1966 Environmental Center.<\/strong><\/div>\n
