Konchok Norgay

Director, SECMOL

Norgay served as the Ladakhi director of SECMOL (Students Educational and Cultural Movement of Ladakh) until 2019. Norgay began working with SECMOL in 1999, where he has helped train youth for two decades on climate change education, passive solar design and energy, solar cooking, and appropriate technology. For Climate Z, his primary role is to help develop the curriculum for the two Climate Change science camps, as well as recruit, mentor, and train the four SECMOL Research Associates who will lead focus group discussions with 200 youth climate scientists and two Climate Change camps on data collection and analysis. Norgay will advise on the development of the integrated landscape management plans and give a presentation about his work at SECMOL at the Climate Change By and For the People Workshop.
