Summary:  Subcommittees focused on five areas related to Williams College’s sustainability and environmental goals. The Campus Waste subcommittee proposed a swag policy, that the college sign the Break Free from Plastics Pledge, and right-sizing course reading packets. The Built Environment and Landscaping subcommittee proposed that the college increase transparency around conservation of college land and consider ways to coordinate student initiative with landscaping. The Pedagogical Approaches subcommittee proposed better communication and coordination among campus entities and more support for interdisciplinary teaching of environmental issues. The Environmental and Sustainability Policies subcommittee considered policies related to appliances in offices and dorm rooms, battery-powered bicycles and scooters, and cryptocurrency mining using college resources. Finally, the committee rewrote its charge and reformulated its composition, and these changes were approved by the faculty.
