Finance in a Time of Covid: A CDE Webinar Series

This webinar series, hosted by the CDE's Professor Caprio, will be focusing on issues of finance in the developing world.

Professor Caprio’s “Finance in a Time of Covid” webinar will kick-off on Tuesday, September 15 (8 AM EDT, 1 PM GMT) with a talk by Professor Thorsten Beck from City University Business School, London, on “COVID-crisis in emerging markets: firm and financial sector reactions.”

The format will be a 25-30 minute presentation by the speaker, followed by questions and discussion for another 30 minutes.  Prof. Caprio will pose questions to the speaker and take the questions from the participants in the chat box in Zoom.

Future speakers include: Benno N’Dulu, former Governor, Central Bank of Tanzania, on Sept 29; Andrew Powell, Principal Advisor, Inter-American Development Bank, and former Chief Economist, Central Bank of Argentina on October 13; and Patrick Honohan, former Governor, Central Bank of Ireland, and former World Bank Advisor on the financial sector, among others.

Space will not be limited in this webinar series, but you do need to be registered in order to be invited to the webinars, which will be on Zoom.
