The lecture itself was thought provoking and was a great supplement to our readings. I am definitely interested in exploring solutions to the ageing population and increasing reliance on import workers for my final paper. After discussing the topic with my classmates and getting lunch, I decided to live life on the edge and watch Coco at a nearby movie theater. Although the movie was dubbed in Cantonese with minimal Chinese subtitles, I enjoyed the experience because it was a good exercise in experiential learning. I understood about 65% of the movie (15% from listening and 50% from watching), so while I can’t say I cried as hard as the lady sitting in front of me, but I was still somewhat touched and would recommend it to anyone interested in a family friendly heartwrencher. Special thanks to Harry for once again taking us around and to Claire for coming with us to the movie and for showing us a great restaurant for dinner.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
1\/8\/17: On the first day of class, we learned about Hong Kong’s population and the social issues that surround the topic, such as the ageing population and migrant workers.
