Today I went with RB and Haley to hike Sai Kung. I wasn’t feeling very good when I woke up, but decided to go anyways. My logic was that we are only in Hong Kong for a little but so I should take advantage of it. Little did I know it would be one of the most physically challenging and beautiful days I’ve ever had.
Getting to Sai Kung was quite difficult, as we had to take multiple MTR lines, a light bus and a taxi, but after about 3 hours we finally made it. The trail was nice, but I still wasn’t feeling very good by the time we made it to the first beach. The beach was incredible, white sand, rocky atolls and blue water were entirely ours. We hung out on the “private” beach for a little before continuing onward, then the hike became extremly difficult for me with my body aching and a terrible headache. As night fell we realized that the only way to get out of the secluded area we were in was to take a speed boat. As we made our way home I felt absolutely terrible and still feel that way. All in all I am glad we did the hike, but I think I need some rest.
