How can Japan increase its domestic lacquer production while mitigating harm to the environment?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Tsutsumi-san sees the first step to solving this problem as promoting understanding of urushi to the general public as a recyclable resource and raw material.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In an effort to introduce urushi to the wider community, Tsutsumi-san creates and distributes <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/static1.squarespace.com\/static\/5819d4456a49632b8e030a9a\/t\/5aed3135aa4a993c1645d6f5\/1525494175074\/urushinoippo_EN.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">pamphlets<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> about urushi materials, and incorporates urushi into everyday objects, such as bicycles, skateboards, and even surfboards.
