You are invited to join the Williams College Project Presentations on \u201cKyoto Artisans\u201d held on Thursday, January 19th, from 16:00 \u2013 18:30 at KYOCA. Come to hear what the students have learned and how they have been transformed by meeting with Kyoto artisans.<\/p>\n

The Project Presentations are the culmination of a month-long winter travel course at Williams College on \u201cKyoto Artisans: Exploring 1200 years of Kyoto\u2019s cultural history through modern craftsmanship.\u201d The course aims to explore the cultural history of Kyoto especially how traditional craftsmanship has been perpetuated and transformed in the modern era. By engaging with thriving traditional artisans in Kyoto, students will seek to arrive at their own conclusions about what it means to sustain tradition, while balancing modernization and innovation.<\/p>\n
