Web Redesign Project

Scope And Goals

In the coming weeks, we will examine the current website’s strengths and weaknesses, identify opportunities to do more with the web, and take stock of the ways the site is being used now. Armed with this analysis, the college will redevelop its main website and associated subpages, bringing our web presence not only up to date, but putting it ahead of the curve among higher education websites. The project will be done with an eye toward emerging technology and trends in web development and user behavior.

Strategic goals of the redesign:

  • Increase engagement of alumni, current students and parents, faculty, and staff
  • Increase engagement, interest, and knowledge of Williams among prospective students, faculty, and staff
  • Foster community cohesiveness
  • Inform/improve perception of Williams among general public, media, and peers
  • Enhance productivity of faculty, staff, and students

To achieve these goals, we need a website that is:

  • Easily navigable
  • Fully accessible
  • Sophisticated in design and functionality
  • Consistent in message and user experience
  • Creative and flexible
  • Engaging and vibrant
  • Interactive in compelling, useful ways
  • Audience-targeted
