For the most part, items were grouped remarkably consistently. Consistency was broken into five categories:
- 100% Consistent Groupings: all participants in all groups put all of the same items together
- Very Consistent Groupings: all participants in all groups put all of the same items together except one
- Fairly Consistent Groupings: participants in all groups put most of the same items together
- Less Consistent Groupings: participants in all groups put some of the same items together
- And Everything Else: leftovers
Names of groupings below are arbitrary and were chosen for clarity. They do not reflect category names suggested by either the card sort or the participants.
