Center For Community Engagement

It is hard to come to Williamstown without being struck by the majesty and magic of this place. Many of us go through our years here never looking past this “village beautiful” image. But beyond the green lawns and ivy-covered buildings of the College and the small-town bustle of Spring Street is a complex region full of challenges, struggles, surprises, and successes. The area around Williamstown provides meaningful opportunities for community service, internships, community-based research, and engaging fun.

The big question is how to tap into all of this. What about community engagement is most meaningful to you? This website is designed to help you connect with local organizations and opportunities, but it is only a first step in that exploration. For more information about how to navigate any of these opportunities or others that are not described here, or if you have ideas for a new project and want to discuss them, you are always welcome to contact the Center for Community Engagement and the Lehman Council for Community Engagement. The very first step to becoming engaged with your community is establishing a meaningful relationship with community stakeholders.
